Branding elements you shouldn't miss out on:
Along with other print and web design work, there are a couple of reasonably simple branding elements that are really pretty cool but many people don't bother to do. Both of the items listed below can be accomplished probably in less than 2 hours for an experienced designer if materials and information are organized.
Favicons
If you're an experienced web user -- and who isn't these days -- you may have noticed that larger companies have custom icons that show up in web browsers where the URL is listed and on the browser tabs. Those little icons are called Favicons and are a great place to reinforce your brand and give your website a polished look. Below are screen shots of the favicons for this website and another of my sites. All of the big guys use these and getting them set up is a pretty straight forward task.

If you've checked out some of the larger companies who have Facebook pages, you may have come across some pages that look really nice and don't look like the "average" Facebook page. If you do a search on Facebook or click on these links for NFL, or Pepsi or Victoria's Secret or Schmidt Productions and check out the official pages, you will see what I mean.
Facebook allows a designer / developer to create some cutomized areas including customized profile images, custom tab(s) which can also be set to the default landing page and custom graphics that can also be linked to your own website.
Setting up a custom page on Facebook does not require a ton of time but the value of the custom page is a huge opportunity for branding your company to the Facebook community. With the rapid growth of Facebook and the size of the community, the small budget needed to complete this task should be well worth the effort.
